Long haired German shepherds "vom Möhnesee"

Welcome to my pages "Zwinger vom Möhnesee". My name is Rita and I share my husband's passion with regard to breeding long haired German shepherds.

My dogs are "Aysha vom schwarzen Traum" and "Nira vom Böhmerwald". My breeding dogs are HD and ED free which has been certified by an independent expert.

To me, breeding does not simply mean reproduction and mating a male and female breeding dog.

The cornerstone of successful breeding is puppy socialization during the first 14 weeks. I have always asked myself why a breeder does not work with his puppies? Is he not to do it or are we expecting too much of our the little puppies?

Studies by veterinarians and studies carried out at the university clinic of Hannover, Germany have proved the contrary. For this reason, I - and my husband as well - decided to work with my puppies. Not only do I sleep next to the litter box at night to promote the puppies' socialization and to strengthen the relationship between human beings and dogs; starting with the twenty-fourth hour of their lives, I take the puppies on a car ride and do exercises with them.

For me as a breeder it is important to raise strong-nerved, intelligent, healthy and lively puppies that are friendly to human beings. After 12 weeks, the new owners of our puppies will get a family dog, who will become the four-footed darling of his new family, who will protect his family or better "his pack" and who can also be used for dog sports or in a dog squad to rescue human beings.
